Journey of Pregnancy Third Timester

Hey guys! I figured it was about time for an update on the third trimester.

So far the third trimester has been a lot like the 2nd.  Not too much of a difference except that my belly just keeps on getting bigger.  I do feel Caycen kicking me CONSTANTLY.  He is going to be a very active boy!!

How I feel:
Well, I am almost 33 weeks, so you can say I feel big!  I am starting to get tired again, which is most likely because I'm not sleeping very well... I just can't get comfortable! I roll around constantly during the night, I get hot then cold, and it doesn't help that Sugar has to sleep right under my feet!  I have been tired during the day at work and it's really hard when you're having to stand all day and work with 2nd graders.

I have had a lot more heartburn lately! Before I was pregnant I NEVER had heartburn... now during the third trimester, it's pretty much an every day thing. I can't wait for that to go away!

I have heard that whatever your first trimester was like is what your third is like... well I guess that doesn't apply to everyone because I haven't been sick at all... yet... I did end up getting morning sickness during the first trimester and so many people have said that I would have it in the 3rd because of that... but nope, no morning sickness.  I hope I'm not speaking too soon!

So, other than being pretty tired and the heartburn, I don't feel too different... but hey, I still have 7 weeks to go :)

Body
Well, my belly is for sure a LOT bigger this trimester!  I am loving my maternity jeans and Chance's t-shirts! haha! Poor guy, I hope I don't stretch his shirts out!  I still don't have any stretch marks on my tummy, so I'm grateful for that... hopefully it stays that way!  My feet and ankles have started swelling off and on, mainly when I get hot or stand for long periods of time.  The doctor told me to elevate my feet while I'm at work... I don't think she realizes that as a 2nd grade teacher you don't get much opportunity to sit and elevate your feet...

Here are a few pics from the 3rd trimester so far:

29 weeks

32 weeks
What I'm eating
Well, the same old thing... still don't feel like I'm having any cravings... BUT, I do feel like I get hungry and a lot more irritable if I don't eat now.  And though I'm not craving anything all the time, when someone suggests something to eat and I get my mind set on eating that, I have to have it! I'm not good at changing my mind after I have decided I want something specific.  I am drinking a lot more milk lately, mostly for the heartburn!

Best moment so far
The best moment so far in the third trimester is definitely just being able to feel Caycen and watch him move across my stomach.  During the 2nd trimester I started feeling him kick and could see it, but now it's a lot more movement and you can definitely see it a lot better.  I can actually feel body parts and everything!  I love it when Chance plays his guitar and Caycen just rolls around and kicks me like crazy.  It's sooo amazing to see my stomach move from this itty bitty baby inside of me!

Well, that's my update for now... I will be updating again probably right before Caycen comes (or maybe after if he comes earlier than expected).

Thanks for reading!!! I love hearing your comments and advice, so leave me lots!!!!! :)

Love y'all,
Aimes

Thankful Thursday!

It's so easy to think about the negative in our lives, but there are sooo many positive things that outweigh the negative.  So today I want to write about a FEW things that I am thankful for...

1.  I am thankful for my wonderful friends!!! My friends are so great that they were asking me if they could "please come over and help with baby stuff"! Wow! How awesome is that?? Martha is so funny cause she kept reminding me "Amy, you don't have that much time left... you really need to get that baby room together".  haha! LOVE HER!!! So Martha and Melissa came over during spring break to help me with putting some stuff together in the baby room.  Here are a few pics:

They helped me fold baby clothes and they even put them in drawers for me!!!

putting together the bedding

last touch on the bedding

playing with the mobile :)

Chance and Cooper even helped! haha!

Is it centered??

hanging letters

Caycen's letters all put up

This was what we accomplished and I'm very proud.
We have  alot more to do, but it's getting there!
2.  I'm thankful for such a wonderful family! Even though I couldn't be with my side of the family for Easter I know that they were thinking of me.  I got to spend Easter with some great friends at church and then with Chance's mom and sister.  We had a wonderful dinner and it was so nice to be able to spend time with them.

3. I'm thankful for my AMAZING husband, who continually surprises me with his selflessness every day! He is constantly rubbing my tummy, feet, and anything else that's hurting my aching body!  What a wonderful daddy he will be :)

Funny guy!

4.  I'm thankful for such a forgiving God! There are so many things that I have done in my lifetime that I am not proud of, but it is so reasuring knowing that I have a God so great that He loves me even with my flaws.

What are you thankful for??

Hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far! TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!! YAY!!!!

See ya soon!
Love,
Aimes

List Check-offs So Far

Well I've gotten a good bit of things checked off of my Spring  Break List of things to do so far.

1.  I went to the Tim McGraw concert as you saw in my earlier post.
2.  I took the clothes to Plato's Closet and made about $55 for some old clothes that will never be worn again!
3.  I took the rest of the clothes and the ones in my big black trash bag + an old t.v. + a REALLY old stereo and speakers that I talked Chance into taking to Goodwill :)
4.  I finished Caycen's letters... YAY!!!!
5.  I organized the pantry (wheeww!)
6.  I found something to wear for maternity pics.
7.  I layed out for like an hour on Wednesday (not as much as I wanted to get in, but that's ok)

Caycen's Letters
I am very proud of myself for finishing Caycen's letters for his room! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but that's ok, I appreciate them a WHOLE lot more than if I would have just given up and bought some online.  I had to do some trial and error with the letters, but I think they turned out pretty good.  Please tell me what you think of them!!!  Also, I am going to try to hang them today, should I do straight across or zig-zag??

Pantry Organization
Alright, so one of my things on my list was to organize my pantry, which I did, but it wasn't EXACTLY how I wanted it.  To go about doing this, I first had to make a list of all the things I thought I could possibly need to put in bins, bowls, or tubs.  Next, I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of storage tubs and baskets.  I wanted to use some boxes and decorate the boxes for organization too, but I didn't have enough (I'm planning on doing this for my office/craft room so I had to save the boxes that I do have).  I started organizing by removing pretty much EVERYTHING from the pantry.  I then slowly started putting things in piles to organize them.  Some of the ways I organized was by putting things in groups of baking items, pastas, bread, cereal, boxed foods, chips, snacks, canned foods, and paper goods.  Then I slowly started putting things back on the shelves trying to think of the items that needed to be in easy reach.  Here is a before and after picture:

After taking everything out of the pantry this is what my kitchen looked like...

Empty pantry (top row is Taylor's stuff so I didn't want to really mess with that yet, then the next row I organized as I went)

Paper goods and zip loc bags

floor has the paper goods and drinks, bottom shelf has paper goods, snacks, and trashbags

Middle shelf has baking items and canned goods.
I made the cute little labels for the canisters myself!!! Those were my favorite!
Sugar, flour, salt, and of course chocolate chips! :)

This shelf had all the pastas, boxed meals, condiments, and in the little blue basket are seasoning packs.

This shelf has all the breads, salad stuff, and chips.
Then the top row has all the cereal and Taylor's food
Here is the finished pantry again (not exactly what I hoped for, but at least it's organized now):

Some of my BEST friends are coming over today to work on some baby stuff with me! Yay! So HOPEFULLY, I will be able to have some stuff up in the baby room and have pictures to post soon.  There are still a few things on my list for Spring Break that I haven't completed, but I'm getting to them... the only thing I think I won't get done is organizing my office the way I want it. I did clean it up a little so it doesn't look so messy, but I have a lot of work to do in there and I don't think I have enough time to get it done.

Oh, I almost forgot... here is something I made yesterday, when I probably should have been working on my list, but hey, I got a little distracted!!!

a little necklace... I will put it on with an outfit later and take a pic so you can see what it looks like on :)
So far, this spring break has been awesome!!! Going by waaay to fast, as always, but that just means the end of the school year is NEAR!!! I am SOOOO ready for Summer!!

I hope you all are enjoying your week and if you're not off today it's ok because at least it's FRIDAY!!!!
Comments PLEASE :)

Tim McGraw

Sunday we went to the Tim McGraw concert with our best friends! We had such a great time.

We started the night out at Kyle and Amy K.'s house to grill out.  We figured it would be easier than going downtown... and a lot cheaper!!!  The food was great! We had a good time just hanging out before the concert.

We finally got ready to go downtown and it took us a while to find a parking spot, but we finally found one and made it to the civic center in time for The Band Perry.  They were pretty good... then there was LUKE BRYAN!!!! wooohooo!!! What a hotty!!! And it doesn't hurt that he can sing too :)  After Luke Bryan came Tim McGraw. He was pretty great too.  I think the best part of the whole concert was when Luke Bryan came out and sang with Tim McGraw! That was awesome!!!  I would have a lot more pictures, but my camera doesn't take that great of pictures from so far away... we were pretty much as far away as you could get from the stage, but it was nice because I could sit when my ankles started to hurt (that's what happens when you're almost 8 months pregnant at a concert!!! haha).  But here are some photos from the night:

What a great night! And one thing off of my list... Idk if that should have even been counted because there's no way I wouldn't have knocked that off the list!! haha.  I have knocked a few other things off the list too, but I'll save that for another post.

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!

Spring Break Plans

Last night I was thinking of all the things that I would like to get done over my spring break... as I thought, the list got longer and LONGER... I figured I needed to write it down so I wouldn't forget.  Now I'm the type of person who plans to do a lot and only gets a little done.  I thought that maybe if I blog about it and update my progress throughout the week, then maybe I will feel obligated to get a little more done.  So this blog is for you and for ME.

My Spring Break checklist:

1.  Tim McGraw concert on Sunday night!  We are so excited about the concert because Tim McGraw will be there along with The Band Perry and Luke Bryan! We are going with a bunch of our best friends!

2.  Finish Caycen's wall letters. I started on these yesterday (technically I was already on spring break) and I would like to finish them and have them hung up before the break is over.  Painting the letters was harder than I thought it would be.
This is what they look like so far... not done painting though!

3.  Take our 3 bags of clothes to Plato's Closet to see if I can get some money for them...

4.  Take our HUGE trash bag full of clothes and the clothes I don't sell at Plato's Closet to Goodwill (along with a t.v. and some other crap if Chance will let me!!!!).

5.  Organize our pantry with some great ideas I found!
pantry

6.  Organize my "Craft Space", because it is a DISASTER!!!!!!!! It's also the first room when you walk into the front door that you see, so it needs to look a LOT better.  This area is going to be hard to organize though, because Chance has all his deer heads and turkey in this room, so there isn't much wall space.  I am going to have to get CREATIVE!!!!
Ok, this is even messier than usual because I did a lot of stuff in there yesterday, but yeah, you get the picture! I NEED to get organized :)

7.  Get a bookshelf for the living room to put all our DVDs on.
This hidious thing has been sitting in our living room since we moved into our house almost 2 years ago! Definitely need to get it out of the living room!

8.  Take maternity pictures on Saturday with Sunny! So excited about this! :)

9.  Find outfits that I can wear for those maternity pics... hmmm... I might be making a trip to Motherhood.
Motherhood Store online

10.  Lay out in the sun some (yeah, when will I have time to do this with all the things on my list already??? Well I will MAKE time :) )... I'll have to make room for some girl time with my bestie!

11.  Volunteer at one of the Easter services at church and attend one service.

I think that's pretty much everything that I had planned to do for Spring Break... now let's see how much of that I get done ;)  I may need some words of encouragement, so you guys leave me some comments!!! Also let me know what plans and projects you guys have going on..

Caycen's Room:
I also thought I would put a few pictures of Caycen's room so far... we haven't even began decorating, so we have A LOT to do still!!!
View from door

a bunch of junk on the floor

He already has clothes in the closet (and mommy needs to get her crap out of there!!!)

His baby wipes are ready to go... the alligator is actually an easter basket I found at hobby lobby, I just tucked the handle inside the body and figured I could use it to keep lotion and other stuff in there :)

Words to Live by (stolen from a friend):
Now I want to leave you with something that really made me think today (yes, already thinking hard at 7 in the morning!!! haha).  My friend Emily put this poem on her website and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! The poem is written by Mother Teresa and engraved on the wall of her home for the children of  Calcutta.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway...

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

I hope you enjoyed the poem as much as I did, thanks Emily for posting it!!!  :)
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I saw that my friend Emily was linking up to do "What I'm Loving Wednesday" and since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd link up too :)

What I'm loving is...

1.  That some of the BEST friends in the world, Melissa, Martha, and Amy K., are throwing me a co-ed shower in a few weeks for baby Caycen! It was so exciting to see the invitation with the little turtles and alligator to match Caycen's room.  They are the best friends ever!!!

2.  Spring break is right around the corner!!!! Being a teacher can be SOOOO stressful and I'm looking forward to a much needed break.  I will be able to get some rest, work on the baby room, and maybe even get some rays on this white skin of mine!

3.  All of the furniture in Caycen's room is put up, now I just need to get to decorating.  Luckily, I have great friends that have offered to help, and seeing as how I don't have much time left, I'm sure I'll be taking them up on that offer!!!

4.  I started sewing a little :)  I sewed my first pillow case and I have to say it turned out pretty good for the first thing I've ever done!!! I am going to mess around with some stuff this weekend and try to embroider some things.  Hopefully Brandy will be able to help me out :)
My brother machine

Not the greatest pictures, but oh well

5.  My hubby as always!!!

6.  My small group and that we are finally done with the book we've been doing "His Needs Her Needs".  If you haven't read it and you are married or are engaged to be married, READ IT!!!!

7.  I don't have much longer until I get to see our sweet little Caycen!!! Wow, I'm already 30 weeks and 2 days... time really flies when you're having a baby!!!

8.  The child birthing class that we did last weekend! It really taught me a lot and I'm so glad that we took the class... even though it was an ALL day event and a sunny, absolutely perfect day outside!!!

I hope you guys had fun reading!!!

Link up or leave a comment :) Have a wonderful Wednesday and I love y'all!!!
