Proposal Story

I'm linking up with Emily at Baby Berry for a proposal story

the proposal

Here is our story:

It was a hot day in July of 2007 and we actually spent ALL day out at the beach and on the boat.  While we were out there were porpoises coming right up to our boat and it was so cool!

We even had Sugar on the boat with us :)

After a long day we had planned to go to dinner for Chance's parents' anniversary, or at least that's what they told us it was for.  We got all dressed and ready to go and a limo came to pick us up at the house.  Chance was bringing his guitar and said it was because he "wrote a song for his parents" that he wanted to sing for them.  So, I thought nothing of it.

We got in the limo and headed to Alligator Soul in downtown Savannah.  The dinner was wonderful!!! They had the BEST strawberry daiquiri ever too!!!

After dinner, Chance pulls out his guitar and says "I'm going to sing a song that I wrote for my parents and then I'm going to sing a song that I wrote for you, Amy".  I was very confused... Then Chance started singing...

as he was singing, I'm sitting here thinking "aww, that's such a sweet song for them (his parents)".  Then all of a sudden he says my name in the song and I got REALLY confused for a second... I was thinking "why would he put my name in a song he wrote for his parents"... but then I realized he was actually singing to me.

Then it happened... the end of the song said "Amy will you marry me?"... AHHHH!!!! I was SOOOO excited, but so shocked!!! I immediately started crying when he put the guitar down and started to get on his knees, I threw my hands up and covered my face, while Chance dropped the ring box under the table!!! haha! I didn't see that part though because I was too busy crying in my hands.  When I opened my eyes, he had the ring right in front of me.  Of course I screamed "yes!!!" and put the ring on :)

As you can see, Chance's mom and sister were just as shocked as I was!!! They had no idea either!

And here we are with one of the managers of the restaurant who really hooked us up that night.  He even turned the music off in the restaurant so that Chance could sing his song.

After leaving dinner, we stopped by the house of some friends of the family to share the news.  I remember texting like everyone in my phone!!! The next day I drove back to Warner Robins and ended up losing my voice from telling the story SOOO many times! :)

It was definitely a night I will never forget!!!!!!  I love my husband so so so so much!!!! God definitely blessed me when he sent me Chance.

Baby C's 2 month Stats

Well guys... I have realized that being back at work and then coming home to be a mommy is exhausting and definitely making it a lot harder for me to blog!!!! :(  I just have no extra time during the day.  This is what my day looks like during the week:

6:00 - wake up and feed Caycen
6:20 - get ready for work while Caycen sits in the "Mamaroo"
6:45 - pack my lunch and eat a quick breakfast after putting Caycen in his car seat
7:00 - Load up the car and head to work
7:15 - arrive at work to meet Stephanie, the babysitter
7:20 - Clock in at work and try to get some things done in the classroom
8:15 - kids start entering my classroom and it's work work work all day long
4:15 - meet Stephanie in the parking lot to get Caycen and head home
4:30 - get home and either play with Caycen or if he's sleeping start washing bottles and picking up around the house
6:00 - feed Caycen or cook dinner (depends on what we're eating and what Chance feels like doing)
between 6:30 and 7:00 - eat dinner while Caycen sits in the high chair and "talks" to us :)
7:00 - hang out and play with Caycen and Daddy
8:00 - feed Caycen, read a story, pray, and put Caycen to bed
8:30 - take a shower and get clothes ready for the next day
9:00 - watch a little t.v. if I'm not passed out already! haha
between 9:30 - 10:00 go to sleep (Chance feeds Caycen at 10:00, what a GREAT hubby!!!!)

so there's my day in a nutshell!  I know I need to be figuring out where there is time to sneak in a workout too!!! Gosh I really wanna be a stay-at-home-mom!!!!!! So sorry that I'm not blogging as often as I was!!! Hopefully things will slow down some and I can get a little more blogging in at night when I'm not so tired!!!

Alright and on with what the post was supposed to be about...

Yesterday was Caycen's 2 month check-up and unfortunately I couldn't go because it was the first week of school... so Chance took him.  He got all of his shots and everything.  Chance says that I better feel lucky because I didn't have to see Caycen cry.  He said "I've never seen a baby cry like that before!".  Poor thing!!! But he was such a trooper!!! After the shots and getting him back in his carrier, he stopped crying and fell asleep. He didn't really act like his legs were hurting him too much last night either, but we gave him some baby Tylenol before putting him to bed just in case.

Well here are his 2 month stats:

Weight - 13 lbs3 oz, that's in the 68%
Length - 24 inches, that's in the 70%
Head Circumference - 39 cm, that's in the 31%

What a big baby :) (I guess his head needs to do a little growing to catch up with his body!!! haha)

Well, I definitely won't be missing ANY more doctor's appointments because I just couldn't stand not being there with him.  I just love that baby so so much!!!

Caycen has been doing such a great job!!! Friday and Saturday night he slept from 10:00 pm - 5:00 pm without a peep... then Monday night he slept from 10:00 pm - 6:00 pm without waking up once!!! I'm so proud of him!!! He's been doing it all week long :)  Caycen's doctor said "Don't tell anybody else that he's sleeping that long!" haha!!! We just have a WONDERFUL baby!!!

Hope you are all having a GREAT week! Thank God tomorrow is Friday!!!!! :)

What a Long Week!!!

Wow... this week was SUPER long and I must say that I am so glad that it's Saturday!!!

I started back to work on Tuesday, so that was the first FULL day that Caycen has gone to the babysitter. I met her at 7:15 and she brought him back to me at 4:15... it felt like days!!! But I think I did pretty well.  Here he is his first day with Stephanie his babysitter:

Wednesday I worked in my classroom ALL. DAY. LONG.  and it was another long day away from my little man... but then Thursday came... that morning I was already in tears not wanting to leave him.  I met the sitter at the school at 7:15 and then I didn't leave the school until 6:30 that night because we had open house.  By the time I was finished with work my back hurt, my feet hurt, and my throat hurt... I felt like I was starting to get sick.  Open house went great and I seem to have a sweet class.  I got home and I was in tears again.  Friday I had to work until 4:15 again and I was feeling even more sick.  When I got home I just broke down... It's so hard to leave Caycen all day and then I don't get to spend much time with him in the afternoons because he goes to bed at 8:00.  It just really stinks!!! I know everyone says it will get better... but I feel like I'm going to miss so much.  I am really hoping and PRAYING that after this school year I will be able to stay at home with my little boy.

Well, even though I'm not happy about having to go back to work, I am going to be the best teacher I can be.  Last year I went on bedrest at 33 weeks so I missed the last month of school.  When I went back into my classroom everything was just shoved in places and I couldn't find anything.  I had a LOT of work to do. Every year since I've been teaching I have done a jungle theme... I didn't change it this year either. It just costs so much money to do a new theme, so I just made it cuter :) So here are a few pics of my classroom before I fixed it up and then after:

before:
looking in from the door

reading area before movign stuff

shelves behind my desk with all my TEs and other books I use for reading

I'm not complrtrly done, but here are the after:

open house stuff

goody bag for the kids

I changed the shelves behind my desk and put all the teacher reproducible books in my filing cabinet

Used scrapbook paper to make the drawers look cuter :)

I changed the bookshelf, gave away a TON of books, and put all my animals and pillows back out

put scrapbook paper in these drawers also

I'm going to put the kids' pictures in the jeep to look like they're riding in it

I love this cute little man I made :)

I put numbers and letters on the buckets... the top buckets are for math groups, the bottom are for reading groups, then I have my math manipulatives on these shelves as well

Not finished with this corner, but this is where our class store will be

I just realized I forgot to take a picture of my door! It's so cute... I'll post it later :)

here are the hand sanitizer bottles I did for my grade group... aren't they cute?

Well I hope everyone had a waaaay better week than I did!!! Hopefully next week will be a little easier for me... I'm just glad that I work with such great people who make me feel a little better while I'm there! Thanks Godley Station Staff!!!! I love you guys!!! :)

P.S. sorry if I don't post as much, I will be spending as much time as possible with my little man!!!!

Last Day of Summer Break

Yesterday was my last day on Summer Break with Baby C! I have been dreading this day since I knew I would have to go back to work.  Don't get me wrong... I love being a teacher and I really think it is a gift of mine, but I LOVE being a mommy even more.  I can't get enough of the time that I spend with my sweet little boy.  Now I'm back at work and I'm going to be the best teacher I can be this year and HOPE and PRAY that I change careers next year from being a teacher to being a stay-at-home mom.

So yesterday on our last day this is what we did:
Woke up at 6:00 am, had breakfast, cuddled on the couch and watched some t.v., Caycen ate again at 9:00 am, we went to the dollar tree and picked up some things for my classroom, came back home and Caycen took a nap, we took his 12 month pictures, I decided to make the cute LOVE picture below that I plan to frame, took some more pictures, Caycen fell back asleep while I edited pictures on the computer, made cute little hand sanitizer bottles for my 2nd grade team, Papa Ray came by on his way home from work to visit with Caycen, Daddy came home and I went to get my hair done, then when I got home we cooked dinner and had family time.

This is something easy that anyone could do at home! I will post a tutorial in case you want to do this too :)

Ok the following pictures aren't edited because I didn't have time to do it before posting, but I got a little camera happy yesterday and thought these pictures were to cute not to post:

Welp, GOODBYE Summer... I will miss you!
