A Long Weekend!

This post is on our weekend two weeks ago, which was SO.STINKIN.BUSY. but it was also SO.MUCH.FUN!!!!
We started out the weekend on Friday night just hanging out at our house and resting from a long week…
Then it was Saturday morning, which meant I was running the Pride of Pooler 5k with some of the other teachers I work with. Chance and Baby C came to cheer me on. This was my first 5k after having Baby C, which means I was way more out of shape than all of the other races that I’ve run before. My fastest 5k that I’ve done, which was before Baby C, I did it in 23 minutes and 32 seconds (only because I was running with my friend Lindsey who is really tall and has a SUPER long stride!)… this race I finished in 32 minutes and 39 seconds. I was a little disappointed with the time, but whatever, it was all for fun. And of course, Baby C was asleep in the stroller by the time I finished :)


After the race, Me, Baby C, and Melissa all went to Target, the best shop in the whole world, and got Melissa all set up on her baby registry. It was so much fun!!! She’s having a girl, so of course, we registered for some froo froo girly stuff :)

That afternoon, we went to see Chance play in the alumni football game, Savannah Christian vs Benedictine. Caycen had a BLAST! He loved it when the other kids would come up and talk to him or run by him. Savannah Christian lost, but Chance did a great job (not to mention he was HOT in that football uniform ). Caycen was so tired after the game, he fell asleep while we were waiting on Chance to come out of the locker room.

The next day was Ella Kate’s 1st birthday party. It was a Candy Land themed birthday party. They went all out! Amanda did such a good job with every little detail. Ella Kate was so pretty in her little cupcake dress too. Caycen got Ella Kate a pretty little blue bathing suit, with a blue cover-up, and blue sunglasses. She’s gonna look so cute in it this summer! All of the kids got to play on this little roller coaster toy that they had in the backyard, but Caycen was still too small on it, so we let him get in the bouncy house that they rented. He absolutely LOVED it! He loved it SO much that when we took him out he started to cry!!! That kid hardly ever cries, so you know he LOVED it! He was exhausted by the time we got ready to leave. Ella Kate gave out Candy Land games for their party favors, which I’m sure Caycen will play tons when he gets older.

What a great weekend it was! Now I’m looking forward to my SPRING BREAK!!!!! WOOHOO! Hope everyone has a happy EASTER!

Skyler’s Birthday Party and St. Patrick’s Day

I feel like I don’t have any time to post on here anymore! Man, I can’t wait for Summer to be here :)

Well, we have had a busy last three weeks…

Three weekends ago was Skyler’s birthday party and I never did a post about it, so I’m finally getting to it now.
My nephew, Skyler, is now 6 years old!!! I really can’t believe it! For his birthday party they did an Army theme. There were probably 30 kids there! (Note to self: DON’T EVER INVITE 30 KIDS TO ONE OF C’S BIRTHDAY PARTIES). They were really good though. They had games and got their faces painted in camo colors. I even let Caycen’s Aunt Christy put a little bit of paint under Caycen’s eyes, but that was it! Caycen got about a bazillion different toy guns (because that’s all he asked for). Of course, I was thinking that he already had tons, so I got him a basket full of different bug toys. Caycen had so much fun jumping on the trampoline and just watching the other kids play. They all had a BLAST!

Now, last weekend was St. Patrick’s Day and we went to the parade. It was a lot of fun because my cousin, Cassie, got to come down and spend some time with us. We got downtown around 8:30 and found Chance. We set up our stuff and hung out. Caycen got to watch some of the parade then we set up a blanket on the ground so the babies could play with some toys in the shade. We stayed until about 3:00 and we were pooped. It was a lot of fun and Caycen did such a good job out there!

Caycen had so much fun at the his first birthday party that he’s gone to and his first St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

I have a lot more to post from this past weekend… but that will be another post for another day.

9 Month Letter to Baby C

Dear Baby C,
You are 9 months old today and have been one of the biggest blessing in our lives! I can’t believe how fast time flies.  You are getting so big so fast. Every time I look at you, I just want to squeeze you and give you TONS of kisses! Thank you for being such a great baby.


This month’s firsts:
You started actually walking by yourself with your walker this month. Check out this video of you! The first time I saw you do it by yourself, your Daddy had just called me on the phone, and I turned back around to see that you had pulled up on your walker and were taking steps with it all by yourself! You are such a big boy!

You went to your first birthday party, which was your cousin, Skyler’s, 6th birthday! It was an Army themed birthday, so of course your Aunt Christy just had to put some face paint on you too! You had so much fun swinging on their swing, sliding down the slide (while I held you), and jumping on the trampoline (again, I was holding you ). You had a blast!

You ate your first LITTLE bite of cake and ice cream this month too. I’m pretty sure you are going to be enjoying that for the rest of your life.
You found the stairs for the first time!!! I saw you going near them and I knew it was trouble because you like to try to climb on anything and everything.  Of course, you crawl right up to the first step and climb on up it like you’ve been doing it for years. You climbed to the second step and I pulled you down. We will be using the baby gate from now on…
You’re getting your two fang teeth! They have already cut through the gums! Yes, you are going to look like a little vampire baby, but that’s ok. In my post about your 4 month stats, we had just been to the doctor and he said that those two little things that looked like teeth, were actually cysts. Welp, now they REALLY ARE teeth!!! It’s hard to see in the picture below, but they are there.

You starting saying “bye bye”, which sounds more like “du du”, and you do your little hand in and out. It’s the CUTEST thing ever!!! I haven’t been able to get you on video doing it yet though.

Things you’re LOVING this month:
ANY type of food that we put in your mouth, your BOTTLE, pulling up on the couch and sitting down over and over and over, chewing on things, the REMOTE, Mommy’s phone, Mommy singing the song “I love my monkey, yes I do, I love my monkey, how bout you”, crawling as fast as you can around the house, “riding on the pony” song while you get bounced on mommy’s knee, your knew train that you got at Grandma’s house, Baby TV and Sprout TV, your airplane, riding in the jogging stroller, playing with the dogs, and getting into anything and everything that you’re NOT supposed to :) .




Well, Baby C, you have your 9 month check-up next week so we will have your stats soon.  Looking forward to all of the fun things that will be happening this coming up month! I’m so proud to be your mommy!
