Darley Baby #2 Has a Name

Chance and I have actually agreed on a name for the little Darley girl that will be arriving in July!

From the time I was married and thought about having kids, I had hoped I would have one girl someday (not two but one haha), and I knew that her middle name would be June after my very special Granny. I wanted my daughter to have a name that meant something special and what name would be more special than the name of one of the most important women women in my life? My granny was like my second mama and really helped raise me. She has taught me so much throughout my life and I wanted her to know how much she means to me.

A first name was a completely different story... We had a BUNCH of names on our lists but we really couldn't agree on one. Either, one of us thought it sounded funny, it was just a weird name, or it was at the top of the "most popular baby girl names" list. We wanted to make sure that we picked a name that wasn't too crazy, but also wasn't so popular that there would be 3 other kids with the same name in her class one day at school. Well after knocking off every name on our list, I text Chance from school asking him of he liked this particular name. He responded "That's it!" wow!!! It was the first name that we actually agreed on. So of course I had to ask my mama and my mother-in-law what they thought of the name. They both said that they loved it and my mama went as far to say "well if you name her anything else I'm still going to call her that". Haha! I guess she did LOVE it. After saying it to each other for about a week, we finally decided that it was official and we would be calling her...

I hope it fits :)

Bye Bye Passy!!!

Just thought I would share how we got rid of the Passy with Caycen.

Caycen has been using his Passy just to sleep during the night since about a year old. When Caycen was a little over 19 months (this was about a month ago), we decided that we really needed to get rid of the Passy, even if he was only using it at night. {I have heard horror stories about what a Passy can do to their teeth and mouth}

So I started looking at ways to get rid g the Passy on pinterest. I saw one that really didn't cross my mind because it was just too simple; just take it away cold turkey! WHAT!?! I can't believe I didn't think of that!

So one night we didn't give him the Passy, and right before we put Caycen in the bed he actually said "Passy", like he was asking for it. But we just ignored him, put him in the bed, and he didn't ask for it again! Too simple right???? Well it's true!!!! Since that night, he hasn't slept with a Passy and we are so relieved that all we had to do was take it away. I think he was just the perfect age to take it away too (or earlier). I think if we would have waited too much longer it would have been a lot harder to get rid of.

Another reason Mommy and Daddy were excited to get rid of the Passy is the fact that we had to search for it every morning because Caycen always threw it out of the bed! Some days it took us like 5 or 10 minutes to find that stupid thing! We only kept two passies too an every now and then had to use the backup. So needless to say, the Passy was a pain to us anyway.

RIP good old' Passy! We won't miss you very much :)

Gender Reveal for Baby Darley #2

We had a very hard time deciding how we wanted to find out the gender of our 2nd baby. We thought about doing TONS of different things.

I finally decided I wanted to be funny and do a little "war" theme. I had planned on water balloons, but then my genius husband came up with the idea to do water guns instead.

Our appointment was at 9:45 on March 1st, and I was 18 weeks and 4 days pregnant. After our appointment, we went and loaded up on our guns that we needed, we ate lunch, then ran a few more errands.

When we got home, Chance spray painted the little guns black for the guests to use.

At around 5:30, my friend Amanda came over, looked in the envelope to see what we were having {nope we didn't take a peak ALL day long}, and then she took the guns upstairs, mixed the paint with water, and filled all the guest guns and our guns with the color for the gender of our baby.

We walked outside and she brought out the guns. The guests chose a gun from the pink or blue bucket depending on which gender they thought it was. Chance and I got our big guns and on the count of 3 it was WAR!

Our guests shot us and Chance and I shot each other. Everyone's guns shot out the color PINK!!!

Petting Zoo

We decided to use mommy's day off {MLK Day} to go to the Petting Zoo in Hilton Head. It takes about an hour to get there from our house.  Our good friends, Julie and Noah, went with us, and we tagged along with a whole group of other mommies and their kiddos. Noah and Caycen were definitely the youngest of the bunch.

We decided to ride with Julie and Noah, which was super fun. Caycen fell asleep on the way there, but Noah had a blast just knowing that Caycen was in the back seat with him. It was funny to watch Noah so giggly.

When we got there we let the boys just run and look at the animals {And us two prego mamas were running around trying to keep up with these toddlers!}.  Here are some pictures of their little adventure:

We only made it about 45 minutes before the boys were getting bored with the animals and they decided that the water fountain was more interesting :)

And of course they had to ride a horsey before they left {since we wouldn't let them ride the real pony}.

When we left we stopped and ate at Wendy's, then headed back home. I couldn't believe that neither of the boys fell asleep on the way back because they were EXHAUSTED!

It was a fun day!!!

What We Were Up to in January

Well Caycen has been So.MUCH.FUN! Chance and I always talk about how we just Love to watch Caycen run around, play, sing, dance, and just be a funny little boy!

Caycen knows all of his capital letters now and MOST of his lowercase letters. He read the numbers 1,2,3,6, and 8... He can tell you what sounds tons of animals make...
I might forget some, but here is a list:
a cow, sheep, goat, lion, polar bear, arangatang, crocodile, horse, cat, dog, frog, snake, rooster, and the list goes on and on.

January has been a busy month, but a lot of fun! Our family is just so blessed!

First Trimester

Baby Darley #2 at 14 Weeks

Well, my first trimester with baby Darley number 2 has come and gone. This pregnancy has been a little different. I'll go though and do a little overview like I did last pregnancy.

How we found out:
This time was a LOT different than the last pregnancy because we were actually trying to get pregnant. The first month we tried we got pregnant. I started taking tests a few days before I was supposed to start my cycle and found out I was pregnant. It was very exciting!

How I feel:
This trimester the morning sickness started at about 6 weeks, but it's definitely different this time. I feel nauseas a lot but I'm not throwing up like I was the last pregnancy. I've kind of figured out that as long as I keep something on my stomach I don't feel as bad. I have been super tired, especially at work. Other than that It hasn't been too bad.

Cravings:
Cravings are a lot like last pregnancy for me... I don't really have many. Just like last pregnancy it has been hard to decide on something I actually want to eat. I have been eating my chocolate doughnuts, Chance got me some toaster strudels that I've been tearing up, and I always love some Wendy's spicy chicken sandwiches but I'm really wanting them right now.

Body:
This pregnancy I feel like a cow already!!! I have already started popping out, where last pregnancy I didn't start to show until like 16 weeks! I hope that doesn't mean that I will be HUGE by the end. I have gained about 5 lbs so far and I'm hoping to keep from gaining as much weight as I did in my last pregnancy. I have been exercising this time around a lot more so hopefully that will help!

Funny story from today:
Well my original due date was August 5th, but when I went in for my "13 week" appointment today, my doctor asked if I was POSITIVE about the first day of my last cycle. I told her that I was absolutely sure. So she decided to do another ultrasound today because when I went in for my first appointment they said I was measuring a week small. We went back for the ultrasound today and the tech measured twice and I was measuring exactly what I had told them about my cycle, so I'm actually 14 weeks and 2 days today. :) My new due date is July 29th!!! So one more week down!

Well, will be finding out what we are having in about a month and I will update again then.

Caycen Has An Announcement

Caycen is very excited to announce...



We are super excited about this new chapter. The due date is August 5th.

Caycen is so funny because he is in this stage where any time we as him a question he says "No" with a little shake of his head... so of course, every time we ask him if he wants a little brother or sister he says "No", then we ask him if he even knows what that means and luckily he says "No" again :) haha! Love that kid!!!!

Anyway, we are so blessed and can't thank the Lord enough for ALL of our blessings!!!
