List Check-offs So Far

Well I've gotten a good bit of things checked off of my Spring  Break List of things to do so far.

1.  I went to the Tim McGraw concert as you saw in my earlier post.
2.  I took the clothes to Plato's Closet and made about $55 for some old clothes that will never be worn again!
3.  I took the rest of the clothes and the ones in my big black trash bag + an old t.v. + a REALLY old stereo and speakers that I talked Chance into taking to Goodwill :)
4.  I finished Caycen's letters... YAY!!!!
5.  I organized the pantry (wheeww!)
6.  I found something to wear for maternity pics.
7.  I layed out for like an hour on Wednesday (not as much as I wanted to get in, but that's ok)

Caycen's Letters
I am very proud of myself for finishing Caycen's letters for his room! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but that's ok, I appreciate them a WHOLE lot more than if I would have just given up and bought some online.  I had to do some trial and error with the letters, but I think they turned out pretty good.  Please tell me what you think of them!!!  Also, I am going to try to hang them today, should I do straight across or zig-zag??

Pantry Organization
Alright, so one of my things on my list was to organize my pantry, which I did, but it wasn't EXACTLY how I wanted it.  To go about doing this, I first had to make a list of all the things I thought I could possibly need to put in bins, bowls, or tubs.  Next, I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of storage tubs and baskets.  I wanted to use some boxes and decorate the boxes for organization too, but I didn't have enough (I'm planning on doing this for my office/craft room so I had to save the boxes that I do have).  I started organizing by removing pretty much EVERYTHING from the pantry.  I then slowly started putting things in piles to organize them.  Some of the ways I organized was by putting things in groups of baking items, pastas, bread, cereal, boxed foods, chips, snacks, canned foods, and paper goods.  Then I slowly started putting things back on the shelves trying to think of the items that needed to be in easy reach.  Here is a before and after picture:

After taking everything out of the pantry this is what my kitchen looked like...

Empty pantry (top row is Taylor's stuff so I didn't want to really mess with that yet, then the next row I organized as I went)

Paper goods and zip loc bags

floor has the paper goods and drinks, bottom shelf has paper goods, snacks, and trashbags

Middle shelf has baking items and canned goods.
I made the cute little labels for the canisters myself!!! Those were my favorite!
Sugar, flour, salt, and of course chocolate chips! :)

This shelf had all the pastas, boxed meals, condiments, and in the little blue basket are seasoning packs.

This shelf has all the breads, salad stuff, and chips.
Then the top row has all the cereal and Taylor's food
Here is the finished pantry again (not exactly what I hoped for, but at least it's organized now):

Some of my BEST friends are coming over today to work on some baby stuff with me! Yay! So HOPEFULLY, I will be able to have some stuff up in the baby room and have pictures to post soon.  There are still a few things on my list for Spring Break that I haven't completed, but I'm getting to them... the only thing I think I won't get done is organizing my office the way I want it. I did clean it up a little so it doesn't look so messy, but I have a lot of work to do in there and I don't think I have enough time to get it done.

Oh, I almost forgot... here is something I made yesterday, when I probably should have been working on my list, but hey, I got a little distracted!!!

a little necklace... I will put it on with an outfit later and take a pic so you can see what it looks like on :)
So far, this spring break has been awesome!!! Going by waaay to fast, as always, but that just means the end of the school year is NEAR!!! I am SOOOO ready for Summer!!

I hope you all are enjoying your week and if you're not off today it's ok because at least it's FRIDAY!!!!
Comments PLEASE :)

Tim McGraw

Sunday we went to the Tim McGraw concert with our best friends! We had such a great time.

We started the night out at Kyle and Amy K.'s house to grill out.  We figured it would be easier than going downtown... and a lot cheaper!!!  The food was great! We had a good time just hanging out before the concert.

We finally got ready to go downtown and it took us a while to find a parking spot, but we finally found one and made it to the civic center in time for The Band Perry.  They were pretty good... then there was LUKE BRYAN!!!! wooohooo!!! What a hotty!!! And it doesn't hurt that he can sing too :)  After Luke Bryan came Tim McGraw. He was pretty great too.  I think the best part of the whole concert was when Luke Bryan came out and sang with Tim McGraw! That was awesome!!!  I would have a lot more pictures, but my camera doesn't take that great of pictures from so far away... we were pretty much as far away as you could get from the stage, but it was nice because I could sit when my ankles started to hurt (that's what happens when you're almost 8 months pregnant at a concert!!! haha).  But here are some photos from the night:

What a great night! And one thing off of my list... Idk if that should have even been counted because there's no way I wouldn't have knocked that off the list!! haha.  I have knocked a few other things off the list too, but I'll save that for another post.

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!

Spring Break Plans

Last night I was thinking of all the things that I would like to get done over my spring break... as I thought, the list got longer and LONGER... I figured I needed to write it down so I wouldn't forget.  Now I'm the type of person who plans to do a lot and only gets a little done.  I thought that maybe if I blog about it and update my progress throughout the week, then maybe I will feel obligated to get a little more done.  So this blog is for you and for ME.

My Spring Break checklist:

1.  Tim McGraw concert on Sunday night!  We are so excited about the concert because Tim McGraw will be there along with The Band Perry and Luke Bryan! We are going with a bunch of our best friends!

2.  Finish Caycen's wall letters. I started on these yesterday (technically I was already on spring break) and I would like to finish them and have them hung up before the break is over.  Painting the letters was harder than I thought it would be.
This is what they look like so far... not done painting though!

3.  Take our 3 bags of clothes to Plato's Closet to see if I can get some money for them...

4.  Take our HUGE trash bag full of clothes and the clothes I don't sell at Plato's Closet to Goodwill (along with a t.v. and some other crap if Chance will let me!!!!).

5.  Organize our pantry with some great ideas I found!
pantry

6.  Organize my "Craft Space", because it is a DISASTER!!!!!!!! It's also the first room when you walk into the front door that you see, so it needs to look a LOT better.  This area is going to be hard to organize though, because Chance has all his deer heads and turkey in this room, so there isn't much wall space.  I am going to have to get CREATIVE!!!!
Ok, this is even messier than usual because I did a lot of stuff in there yesterday, but yeah, you get the picture! I NEED to get organized :)

7.  Get a bookshelf for the living room to put all our DVDs on.
This hidious thing has been sitting in our living room since we moved into our house almost 2 years ago! Definitely need to get it out of the living room!

8.  Take maternity pictures on Saturday with Sunny! So excited about this! :)

9.  Find outfits that I can wear for those maternity pics... hmmm... I might be making a trip to Motherhood.
Motherhood Store online

10.  Lay out in the sun some (yeah, when will I have time to do this with all the things on my list already??? Well I will MAKE time :) )... I'll have to make room for some girl time with my bestie!

11.  Volunteer at one of the Easter services at church and attend one service.

I think that's pretty much everything that I had planned to do for Spring Break... now let's see how much of that I get done ;)  I may need some words of encouragement, so you guys leave me some comments!!! Also let me know what plans and projects you guys have going on..

Caycen's Room:
I also thought I would put a few pictures of Caycen's room so far... we haven't even began decorating, so we have A LOT to do still!!!
View from door

a bunch of junk on the floor

He already has clothes in the closet (and mommy needs to get her crap out of there!!!)

His baby wipes are ready to go... the alligator is actually an easter basket I found at hobby lobby, I just tucked the handle inside the body and figured I could use it to keep lotion and other stuff in there :)

Words to Live by (stolen from a friend):
Now I want to leave you with something that really made me think today (yes, already thinking hard at 7 in the morning!!! haha).  My friend Emily put this poem on her website and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! The poem is written by Mother Teresa and engraved on the wall of her home for the children of  Calcutta.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway...

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

I hope you enjoyed the poem as much as I did, thanks Emily for posting it!!!  :)
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I saw that my friend Emily was linking up to do "What I'm Loving Wednesday" and since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd link up too :)

What I'm loving is...

1.  That some of the BEST friends in the world, Melissa, Martha, and Amy K., are throwing me a co-ed shower in a few weeks for baby Caycen! It was so exciting to see the invitation with the little turtles and alligator to match Caycen's room.  They are the best friends ever!!!

2.  Spring break is right around the corner!!!! Being a teacher can be SOOOO stressful and I'm looking forward to a much needed break.  I will be able to get some rest, work on the baby room, and maybe even get some rays on this white skin of mine!

3.  All of the furniture in Caycen's room is put up, now I just need to get to decorating.  Luckily, I have great friends that have offered to help, and seeing as how I don't have much time left, I'm sure I'll be taking them up on that offer!!!

4.  I started sewing a little :)  I sewed my first pillow case and I have to say it turned out pretty good for the first thing I've ever done!!! I am going to mess around with some stuff this weekend and try to embroider some things.  Hopefully Brandy will be able to help me out :)
My brother machine

Not the greatest pictures, but oh well

5.  My hubby as always!!!

6.  My small group and that we are finally done with the book we've been doing "His Needs Her Needs".  If you haven't read it and you are married or are engaged to be married, READ IT!!!!

7.  I don't have much longer until I get to see our sweet little Caycen!!! Wow, I'm already 30 weeks and 2 days... time really flies when you're having a baby!!!

8.  The child birthing class that we did last weekend! It really taught me a lot and I'm so glad that we took the class... even though it was an ALL day event and a sunny, absolutely perfect day outside!!!

I hope you guys had fun reading!!!

Link up or leave a comment :) Have a wonderful Wednesday and I love y'all!!!

What I'm Loving...

There are a lot of things that I am LOVING right now and for the sake of random posting I decided to share some with you:

1.  My HUSBAND is what I'm loving the most!!!  He has been so supportive throughout this pregnancy and has just given me a preview of what a great daddy he will be.  I want to thank him for putting up with me (though I don't think I've been too much of a PREGASAURUS - Martha's word).  He has done so much for me lately, like rub my feet and ankles (cause you know they've been killing me), put up the baby furniture, get me food when I'm hungry and being lazy (which is more often than normal), and just being there for me when my hormones are going crazy and I'm a little emotional from the things that are thrown at me day-to-day.  I LOVE YOU CHANCEY POOH!!!

2.  I'm loving my new little blog Darley's Creative Corner and making things for my friends! I have really enjoyed using my vinyl and paints and trying to come up with new things to make.

Caycen's Door hanger

my bucket for school and hand sanitizer

UGA colors on a personalized cake carrier

3.  I'm LOVING the weather lately!!! Have I ever told you how much I HATE the cold?? Everyone keeps saying "wait til you get bigger and it gets hotter and you're going to wish it were winter again"... really... no... I don't think so!!! I love being able to go outside with barely anything on and not get those stinkin' chill bumps!!! I have also noticed that I'm in the mood to read when it's warmer outside too.  I will grab a book and go sit on the back porch and read in the sun.  I just love it!

4.  I'm loving getting to know my neighbors! We have lived in our house for almost two years and haven't really gotten to know anyone around us too much.  Recently, I've been talking a lot with one of our neighbors, Brandy, and I realized that we had a LOT in common.  Her and her husband have 2 beautiful little girls and are just the sweetest family ever!!! When I found out that I was pregnant, she was so sweet and left me a little decorated box with cookies in it and a washcloth lollipop was attached!!! It was at my front door when I got home from work one day.  She does a lot of stuff on her cricut as well and is teaching me to sew!!! :) I'm so thankful to have them as neighbors!!!

Aren't they the most adorable little family ever??

5.  I'm loving that I'm learning to sew!  Brandy got my sewing machine working last night and I'm super excited!!! She showed me a few things and I can't wait to get started! I want to be able to do the appliques and all that she's been doing and hopefully make a few things for our little Caycen before he gets here.
Here are some of the things Brandy has been doing that I love and want to learn to do myself:

This one is my favorite! I want to make something like this for Caycen with the snail :)
6.  I'm loving that Caycen is kicking so much! It's such a great feeling and so reassuring.  I know I said in a previous post that I don't like being pregnant like most women say they do, and I'm sticking to that... but if I had to say there was one cool thing about being pregnant, it's definitely feeling the baby kick and move around so much.  I will just sit there and watch my stomach move... it's just amazing!

27 weeks!!!

7.  I'm loving that we are getting the nursery together!!! We only have one piece of furniture to still put together... I'm sure Chance will get it done sometime :)  We have the nursery painted, the crib put up, and the changing table put up.  I'm going to wash the bedding soon and put it on the crib and start washing baby clothes and put those up too.  I can't wait to see it all come together.

8.  I'm loving that I've been working out more lately... I've been getting on our elliptical and walking the dogs for my exercise.  It's definitely not what I'm used to doing, but it will work until Caycen comes.  Before I was pregnant I ran and did Insanity, but when we started back school it was so hectic opening a new school, that I was just exhausted everyday and wasn't really running like I should.  So when I found out I was pregnant the doctor told me that I probably shouldn't run since I hadn't been doing it consistently for about a month.  Then after that I wasn't working out much at all.. I went on a few walks every now and then, but it wasn't enough.  So, since I have the energy and NEED to be doing something, I've decided to stick to the elliptical and walking the dogs and I feel great!!! It's amazing how much better you feel when you exercise.

9.  I'm loving that my friend and co-worker, Amanda, is having her baby on Monday (unless she comes earlier)!!! I am super excited for her, but I will miss her at work for sure! Ella Kate is going to be beautiful just like her mommy!!!
Me and Amanda just days before she will be induced.

10. I'm loving Jergens Natural Glow lotion!!! I knew I was white, but when I looked at pictures from my birthday I realized I was GHOSTLY!!!! So I decided to try the Jergens Natural Glow lotion because I heard such great things about it.  After using it once, I'm addicted!  It makes you look a little darker, but slowly.  I don't use it every day, but I use it about every three to four days.  You could use it more to get a darker look if you wanted.  If you're white like me from not being in the sun in forever, you should definitely try it!!!

These are just a few of the things I'm loving lately... but there are lots more!!!! My family, my friends, reading, my dogs, my church small group, and most of all my GOD for blessing me with so much!!!! He is so amazing and I'm so thankful to have a God that loves me so much!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Home Improvement

Hey everyone! So, Chance and I have a lot of things we would LIKE to get done before the baby comes.  We are waiting to get our taxes all done and figured out before we do anything.  We have finally finished our taxes, we just need to find out how much we will owe (Chance is on commission so we pay instead of receive money during tax season).  After taxes we want to do a little home improvement.  Here is what's on the list:

1.  Hardwood floors downstairs
2.  New entertainment center
3.  A little more home decor (living room clock and other accessories)
4.  Anything extra we need for the baby room (maybe we will wait and do this after showers and all are done)
5.  We also need a GOOD camera (We are wanting the Nikon D3100)

We, well Chance and Mike, started putting together some of the baby furniture that we received on Wednesday! I'm super excited about it!!! They put together the changing table, which took a good while, and all they have to do now is the chest and the crib.  Here is the process of two handy men putting together baby furniture:

Doesn't it look great??? Now I can't wait to have all the other furniture done and to be able to actually start setting up the room.  Am I a little crazy that I'm wanting to already get things together even though I have a few months left??

Well today was such a beautiful day, so I got some laying out done (in my backyard where nobody could see me! haha!), I washed and put up clothes, watched a couple of my shows, hung out with the neighbors, ate lunch with my wonderful husband, and soon I will be getting ready to go to Cancun for dinner to celebrate a good friend's birthday.  I would say today has been WONDERFUL!!!! I can't WAIT 'til summer!!!!

Oh and go check out the new cake carrier that I did for my winner of the giveaway on my creative blog! She wanted UGA colors (which is great because I don't know if I could stand to do Florida haha JK!!!).  Let me know if you would like to order anything!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!!
