Christmas 2012

This Christmas started for us the weekend before Christmas with my side of the family. We did Christmas with my parents, my Granny and Papa, my sister and brother-in-law and my sweet nephew and nieces. We had a lot of fun opening gifts and just enjoying each others company. All the kids had a blast riding their motor vehicles too.

After spending time with my side of the family, we came back to Savannah to enjoy our little family.

Christmas Eve I took Caycen to see Santa at Bass Pro {Yes, I waited til the last minute, but it was great because there was NO line} and Santa had to bribe Caycen with a candy cane in order for him to sit on Santa's lap.  Later we went to our church service, which was AWESOME! Then we to Chance's parents' for dinner. We spent time together, then opened jammies, then went home.

Nona reading to Caycen

Christmas morning we got up around 7:30 and we were all excited for Caycen to see what Santa brought. We had the camera ready and Caycen decided to be shy and didn't want to go downstairs... UNTIL I told him that there was Elmo down there waiting for him :) that boy loves him some Elmo! After going downstairs, Caycen just stated at all his gifts. It was the CUTEST.THING.EVER! The first toy he decided to play with were the golf clubs. He then realized that he had his own table and chairs and wanted to sit at his table. He also got a little potty, potty DVD, books, blocks, coloring books, clothes, a plush Elmo, and a bunch of other small things. He had a wonderful Christmas morning!

After playing for a while we got ready and went to Chance's parents' for a little brunch. We opened more presents and played a while. We then went back home, let the dogs out, took a little nap, then headed back over to Chance's parents' for Christmas dinner.

Overall, it was a wonderful Christmas and we have so much to be thankful for. God is so great to us and we are so grateful for the day that Jesus was born!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Love,
Amy

Happy 18 Months Caycen!!!

Well, I don't think I can call you Baby C anymore cause you're definitely a toddler who is into everything!!!

So... Happy 18 Months Big Boy C!!!! I love you more than words could ever describe!!!

You are such a ball of energy right now. You are so stinkin smart too! You know half of the alphabet (you can actually say the letter when I point to it). You can count to three, you love doin te motions to the"Itsy Bitsy Spider", and you even try to sing your ABCs. You know the sounds that a cow, duck, cat, dog, lion, and a bumble bee make. You can tell me where lots of your body parts are like your hair, head, nose, mouth, eyes, ears, tongue, teeth, arms, hands, belly button, feet, toes, and of course your pogey. Such a smarty pants!!!

Things you're loving right now:
Spinning in circles, reading books, Super Why on t.v., splashing in the bath, saying "no" and shaking your head, getting to see all of your grandparents, running, climbing up your rock wall and sliding down your slide, the play area at the mall, kicking your ball, playing outside, wagon rides, Elmo, trucks, the Christmas tree, snuggling, giving kisses, putting on Chapstick, the woods, and just having fun!

Your Daddy and I are loving every minute that we get to play with you and just spend time with you. You are such a funny little boy! I hope that we can teach you to love the Lord like we do. God was so great to us when He gave us you. You are our little blessing!

I love you Caycen Edward Darley!!!!

Love,
Mommy

Thanksgiving 2012

This Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. It was a lot like last Thanksgiving, but this time Caycen was big enough to run around and play with his cousins.

We started off our visit by going to my Granny's house to see all of my mom's side of the family. After being there for a few hours we went to my Uncle Lee's house for my Dad's side of the family.

I had to steal some pictures from my Aunt Lynn, because I forgot my camera!!! geez... So I didn't get any pictures with my Dad's side of the family. SIGH!

Here are a few pics from our day:

We played a little cornhole and of course Caycen wanted to play too!

We had a great day visiting all of our family. Can't wait to get together again. I really do wish we got to do it more often.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

You've Been RACKed!!!

So, I saw this last year around Christmas time and SOOO wanted to do it, but {hang head in shame} I was honestly too lazy.  I made the excuse that I didn't have enough time... BUT I DO!

RACK stands for RANDOM ACT OF CHRISTMAS KINDESS and our famiy has decided this is going to be a little Christmas tradition we are starting this year.

We made a whole list of things that we are going to do to show Random Acts of Kindess this season.

We did 25 Acts for the 25 Days of Christmas. We plan to leave a little Christmas note with each of our acts of kindness. I'm not recreating the wheel, so I'm using Cara Carrol's card that you can find on her blog here. Cara also has a list of what she did last year when she went RACKing :)

Here is our list for 2012:

1. Tape candy canes to ATM machines.

2. Tape coins to vending machines.

3. Take cookies to the librarians at our local library.

4. Take brownies to the local fireman.

5. Take doughnuts to the local police officers.

6.  We are doing two Christmas shoe boxes to ship overseas to one boy and one girl in need.

7.  Visit the nursing home and hand out Christmas cards.

8. Donate items to the animal shelter and visit the animals.

9. Take hot chocolate to Salvation Army people outside of Walmart.

10. Leave a gift in the mailbox for the mailman/mailwoman

11. Collect canned goods for those in need.

12. Put candy canes on cars

13. Leave a stack of children's books at the play area in the mall.

14. Anonymously pay for another family's dinner.

15. Donate clothes to FABRIK {they are teaming up with United Way to help teens in need}

16. Donate toys to those in need.

17. Take gifts to our neighbors.

18.  Donate coloring books and crayons to doctor's offices.

19. Adopt a class and bring them goody bags.

20. Donate coloring books and crayons to the church.

21. Push those random grocery carts back where they belong.

22. Bring breakfast for Caycen's babysitter.

23. Bring in breakfast for coworkers.

24. Visit the people working at CVS on Christmas Eve and gift them a gift since they can't be with their families.

25. Drop off Baker's Pride doughnuts at the local hospital and put them in the waiting room for the families and staff working on Christmas Day.

I am super excited about going RACKing and teaching my little man the importance of serving others and showing the love of CHRIST.

If you want to join us please let us know! And we would love LOTS of comments letting us know if you will be RACKing this year and also some encouragement as we get all of our stuff together to start RACKing!

I hope everyone has a BLESSED weekend!!!

Love,
The Darleys

Halloween 2012

This Halloween we took Caycen trick-or-treating for the first time. Last Halloween he actually fell asleep for trick-or-treating ever started!!!

Caycen got to be a dinosaur for Halloween this year and {if I do say so myself} he was the CUTEST little dinosaur that I've ever seen!!!!

We walked/rode around the neighborhood to different houses for about 45 minutes.

Caycen had a lot of fun! He even tried to say "trick or treat" at the last couple of houses, which sounded more like "tr tree". He was TOO cute!

After we thought he {or Chance and I} had enough candy, we decided to go back to the house and hand out candy.

We had so much fun this month getting to dress up and celebrate Fall!

Looking forward to next year's costume :)
